Let’s make sure shopping for travel remains competitive, transparent and easy

Markets work. They efficiently connect buyers and sellers, creating value for all involved. The Let the Market Fly campaign is about promoting and advancing an open marketplace for air travel, which benefits airlines, travelers and the agencies that connect them.

What does this mean? It means that everyone who wants to buy or sell air travel products is able to do so in a marketplace where comparison shopping – i.e. competition – is real, easy and vibrant. Unfortunately, markets are sometimes threatened by participants who think reducing buyers’ ability to comparison shop can maximize their short-term profits. We are fighting to make sure that 2013 is not the year that ushers in a future of harmful and costly market fragmentation but instead one that ensures that an open air travel marketplace flourishes for years to come. The world needs booming air travel. And a transparent marketplace is the fuel to keep us all soaring.
